Introducing The Resurgam Group
In the past weeks, I have felt a flood of gratitude. Elected officials and dedicated staffers, mentors and mentees, campaign operatives and passionate volunteers, friends and family have all come forward with their appreciation, and perhaps most importantly, their own lived experiences with the constant struggle in our industry in the quest for self-care.
In my career, I've spent time working closely with some of the best public servants and organizers our state has to offer. From running winning campaigns to passing transformative policy, I've learned from and won with the best of the best.
Together, we passed nationally recognized prescription drug, health care, and labor reforms. Together, we helped President Biden win a 52% victory in Maine, a six-point increase from Clinton's 2016 results. Together, we helped Maine Senate Democrats win the largest majority for any political party in nearly 30 years. Together, we helped improve the Maine Clean Election Act at the ballot box. Together, we rose to the challenge time and time again.
As I have taken time to reflect on where we have been and where we will go, one common principle surfaces time and time again. As Mainers, when we get knocked down, we get back up. Whether it be pulling together a winning strategy after a minor setback at the ballot box, or developing a robust and successful floor strategy to flip a difficult committee vote, or weathering the storm in crisis to create a public affairs strategy that helps us end on top, we come together to overcome adversity and rise again.
It is in that spirit that I am excited to announce the launch of The Resurgam Group. A full-service public affairs, campaign strategy, and government relations shop that builds on the lessons from our victories, and perhaps even more important, the lessons from our losses.
Resurgam is Latin for "I Shall Rise Again." Tenacity and resolve are essential traits in a political partner. We'll always rise to meet the needs of our clients, and if we fall, we'll get back up together.
